Six people shot at laundromat in Chicago

CHICAGO - Two teenagers were among six people shot Monday at a laundromat on Chicago's South Side, reports CBS Chicago.

Emergency officials arrived at Sudz laundry around 8:30 p.m. after an unidentified man allegedly walked up to the building and opened fire, according to the station.

The Chicago Fire Department said four victims were found inside the coin-operated laundry, and another two injured were found outside the building. Fire department spokesman Larry Langford told the station a 14-year-old boy who was shot collapsed a block away from the scene.

The 14-year-old was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, CBS Chicago reports. A 16-year-old boy, who was shot in the leg, was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill. Other victims were taken to nearby hospitals in conditions ranging from fair to critical.

Police said a seventh victim, a 25-year-old woman, injured her toe while running away from the scene, according to the station.

"I'm sitting there looking at this lady lying on the ground, crying," Nashon Williams - who was on her way to wash her clothes when the shooting occurred - told CBS Chicago. "I was just about to walk through the doors."

Police said no one is in custody as of Tuesday morning, the station reports. Officers are investigating possible motives for the crime, including whether or not the shooting was gang-related.
