Shots fired at Lil Wayne's tour bus near Atlanta
ATLANTA -- Shots were fired at several tour buses in which rapper Lil Wayne and his crew were riding following an Atlanta performance early Sunday, reports CBS affiliate WGCL.
Atlanta police say the tour buses were driving on highway I-285 outside Atlanta around 3:30 a.m. when the buses were shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting. No one was injured.
Witnesses said they saw two white vehicles, possibly a Corvette and an SUV, leaving the scene, reports the station. The shooting reportedly happened just after Lil Wayne performed at the Compound Nightclub on Brady Avenue in Atlanta.
Suspects haven't been identified, reports the station.
A witness told the station that a group of people tried to confront the Grammy Award-winning rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., as he was leaving the building after the show. The group was prevented from approaching him by security, the witness told the station.
