Selena Gomez checked herself into rehab

Selena Gomez spent two weeks in a rehab facility last month, her rep is now confirming.

The 21-year-old singer/actress checked herself into Dawn at The Meadows on Jan. 5, according to RadarOnline, which first reported the news Wednesday.

"Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse," a spokesperson for Gomez told the website.

The Arizona facility's website says it treats patients ages 18-26 who struggle with emotional trauma, addiction and other issues.

In December, Gomez canceled her Asia and Australia tour dates so she could take some time to focus on herself.

"My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them," she said in a statement at the time. "But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."
