See Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise in upcoming movie "It"
This is no "Full House" reboot.
Bill Skarsgard stars as Pennywise in the upcoming film adaptation of Stephen King's novel "It," and Entertainment Weekly has the first look at Skarsgard as the terrifying clown looking quite insidious with his little smirk.
The movie, which is slated to hit theaters in September 2017, will follow Pennywise as he terrorizes the children of a small town. To be clear, Pennywise isn't necessarily "It," but just one manifestation of the shapeless evil that feeds on the fear of the kids.
"It's such an extreme character. Inhumane," Skarsgard told Entertainment Weekly. "It's beyond even a sociopath, because he's not even human. He's not even a clown. I'm playing just one of the beings It creates."
Skarsgard said that the people behind the movie wanted Pennywise to look "fresh" for the upcoming film.
"It's purposely not going toward that weird, greasy look," Skarsgard said.
Greasy, no -- but aren't clowns supposed to be weird?
