"Scorpion" cast members dish on show's return and success

"Scorpion" stars on success of show

"Scorpion" is back, and the stars couldn't be happier that the CBS series got picked up for a second season.

Loosely based on the life of self-proclaimed genius and computer expert Walter O'Brien, "Scorpion" follows what happens when a team is recruited by a federal agent of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to form Scorpion, said to be the last line of defense against high-tech threats around the globe. Those stars are Katharine McPhee (Paige Dineen), Elyes Gabel (Walter O'Brien), Robert Patrick (Cabe Gallo), Jadyn Wong (Happy Quinn) and Ari Stidham (Sylvester Dodd) and Eddie Kaye Thomas (Toby Curtis) .And this season Riley B. Smith, who plays Pagie's son, Ralph Dineen, has been added a series regular.

Thomas, for one, says he's thrilled to be back for season 2.

"I genuinely get excited to come here and see everybody. Because we've done so much stuff with all six of us, all six regulars, it's become a family. You just spend this much time together and you fall in love with each other a little bit," he said during a recent visit to the "Scorpion" set in Los Angeles.

"None of them are fun people to be around with," joked Gabel, who portrays O'Brien. In all seriousness, though, he said, "It's a very fun job to do. Once you relax into it and you realize that-- I think best work comes when you're relaxed and you have people to vibe with. And I think that kind of comes through on set."
