"Saturday Night Live" axes two more newcomers

"Saturday Night Live" has reportedly given pink slips to two more of its freshman cast members.

Noel Wells and John Milhiser will not be returning for the show's 40th season, according to Deadline.

News of their oustings came after Brooks Wheelan, who was also new to the "SNL" cast, announced his own departure from the show on Twitter.

Wells, Milhiser and Wheelan were part of a group of six new players that were added to the NBC sketch series last year. Another newcomer, Sasheer Zamata, joined in January.

The show is also presumably losing another familiar face: Nasim Pedrad, who's been on the show for five seasons, is set to co-star on the new Fox series "Mulaney."

"SNL" has not commented on the reported cast exits.
