Rosie O'Donnell: Daughter Chelsea has been found, is safe

Rosie O'Donnell's daughter found safe

NEW YORK -- Rosie O'Donnell's daughter, Chelsea, was found and in police custody, the star tweeted.

WCBS reports that the 17-year-old was found in good condition in New Jersey at approximately 6 p.m. South Nyack police officers were on their way to pick her up and bring her home. They could not comment any further on details of where and how Chelsea was found.

O'Donnell asked her fans to call authorities with any information on her missing daughter earlier on Tuesday.

She said that her 17-year-old daughter had not been seen since last Tuesday, when she left the family home in Nyack, New York, with her therapy dog. She had reportedly not been taking needed medication, according to O'Donnell's spokeswoman, Cindi Berger.

"Chelsea, like millions of people, lives with mental illness. It has been a difficult road for Chelsea and her family and they just want her back safe," Berger said.

O'Donnell had tweeted earlier that her daughter could be in New York City, which is 25 miles south of her home in Nyack. She did not provide any information on where Chelsea was found.
