Robberies near Wrigley Field prompt police alert

CHICAGO -- Chicago police have issued a community alert about a string of robberies near Wrigley Field, where the Chicago Cubs will play the New York Mets Tuesday in game three of the National League Championship Series.

In each incident, multiple male offenders approached a victim on a street or alley and stole a wallet or cell phone, according to police.

Two robberies took place on Saturday Oct. 10, one early morning and one late at night, and one each in the early morning hours of Sunday Oct. 11 and the evening of Thursday Oct. 15.
