Rihanna, Eminem to perform at concert honoring veterans

Bruce Springsteen, Rihanna, Eminem, and Jennifer Hudson will take the stage at the National mall Tuesday for HBO's Concert for Valor, honoring veterans and their families. John Oliver, Jamie Foxx and Jack Black will also address the crowd--as many as 800,000 people are expected to descend on the mall for the concert, which is free to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis. People have already started lining up for the concert, which will take place from 7:00pm-10:00pm. The audience will be able to enjoy the concert in relative comfort, since the weather is expected to be fairly mild, with temperatures around 60 degrees.

Rihanna arrived in Washington a day early and visited the White House, pausing to take the podium where White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest usually briefs reporters (both Earnest and the reporters are in Beijing with President Obama).

HBO will air the concert on television and stream it live. Starbucks and Chase are the major co-sponsors, and the concert's web page is also soliciting donations for organizations that help veterans transition to civilian life.
