Ex-Texas Gov. Rick Perry will be on Dancing with the Stars
Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry is joining the cast of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” for the upcoming season premiering on Sept. 12.
Perry, who ran for president in both 2012 and 2016, announced his new gig on Twitter.
Perry, 66, served as governor of Texas from 2000 to 2015 and served in the Air Force during hte 1970s in Europe and the Middle East.
The reality show said that Perry will be teamed up with pro partner Emma Slater.
The other new celebrity contestants include rapper Vanilla Ice and American swimmer Ryan Lochte and Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady in The Brady Bunch.
Lochte has still been dealing with the fallout from the incident that occurred during the recent summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Brazilian police charged him with filing a false robbery report.
