Richard Belzer is coming back to "Law & Order: SVU"

Good news, Munch fans. Richard Belzer is back.

The actor will be returning to "Law & Order: SVU" to guest-star on an episode airing in May, according to Entertainment Weekly. Belzer's cynical Detective Munch -- which he started portraying in 1993 with "Homicide: Life on the Street" -- left the show in 2013.

In the new episode, titled "Fashionable Crimes," Munch returns to to help with a case involving a model claiming she was preyed upon by a famous photographer played by Fisher Stevens.

"We love having Richard back on set," executive producer Warren Leight said. "This episode was perfect for Munch's cynical eye, and just the right time for him to give Benson [Mariska Hargitay], and Noah, some much needed support."
