Report: Son of Baltimore police commander charged with murder
BALTIMORE -- A man is charged with murder in the stabbing death of his roommate in Southwest Baltimore, reports CBS Baltimore.
Police say 28-year-old Melvin Russell and his roommate got into a fight Monday and both Russell and the 49-year-old victim were stabbed multiple times, according to the station.
Russell was treated at local hospital and released, however, the victim died despite medical efforts reports the station.
According to The Baltimore Sun, Russell is the son of Lt. Col. Melvin Russell, a high-ranking Baltimore police commander.
The younger Russell is charged with first and second-degree murder, assault and weapons violations, reports the station.
