Report: School cook threatened shooting over bad cookies
NORFOLK, Mass. - A middle school cook in Norfolk, Mass. is accused of threatening to shoot up the school over a batch of bad cookies, reports CBS Boston.
Wendy Ferris, 46, the head cook at the King Philip Middle School, is charged with one count of threatening to commit a crime.
She was arrested at her home in Cumberland, R.I. Friday night, the station reported.
Ferris was arraigned in Wrentham District Court Monday afternoon where a judge ordered her held on $5,000 bail, according to CBS Boston.
Ferris’ husband Philip says there must be more to the story.
“She’s an incredibly peaceful person,” he Ferris said. “It’s beyond me where this even comes from.”
Ferris said he hasn’t noticed any change in his wife’s behavior.
“We’re looking to working with the school department and the D.A.’s office to get to the bottom of this,” defense attorney Peter Padula said. “She denies the facts.”
Wendy Ferris is due back in court March 11.
King Philip Middle School is a regional school for the towns of Wrentham, Norfolk and Plainville, suburbs south of Boston.
