Report: One killed by police in shooting at Ohio airport

COLUMBUS, Ohio - One person has been shot and killed by police officers at Port Columbus International airport in Ohio, reports CBS affiliate WBNS.

The shooting reportedly occurred outside in the departure area. WBNS reports that the suspect was in the ticketing lobby ahead of security checkpoints. There was a call for an officer in trouble just before the shooting.

Initial reports are that none of the officers involved were injured in the incident.

At 1:21 pm, a message from the airport's Twitter account read: "We are responding to a public safety matter at the airport, which is open and flights are operating normally. More details to follow."

Eight minutes later, the airport's Twitter account read: "Flights are operating normally. Departing passengers are entering terminal on arrivals level."
