Report: Missing woman found safe after hitchhiking to Phila.

PHILADELPHIA -- A Pennsylvania woman who vanished after her car was found abandoned has been found safe in Philadelphia, reports CBS Philly.

Deirdre Magolon, 20, of Royersford, was last seen just before 7 p.m. Friday when she took her sister's black Mazda without permission, family told the station.

Magolon's family told the station the car stalled, and police discovered it on a roadway in suburban Philadelphia later that night. Magolon, however, wasn't with the car. It was discovered unlocked with a purse containing money inside, Upper Providence Police Sergeant Raymond Bechtel told the station.

Family and friends concerned for her safety launched a social media campaign in an attempt to find the young woman.

Magolon reportedly hitchhiked her way to Philadelphia and investigators were able to locate her when she tried to use her credit card. Her home in Royersford is about 32 miles northwest of the city.

She was found unharmed around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, reports the station.
