Report: Docs reveal Dallas teen's cause of death

DALLAS -- A Dallas teen who vanished on her way to church and was later found slain near her car had been stabbed to death, according to news reports citing newly released court documents.

The Dallas Morning News and television station KXAS reported Tuesday that a search warrant executed at 34-year-old Antonio Cochran's apartment provided new details on the attack earlier this month against Zoe Hastings, including that she was stabbed. Police had previously not released her cause of death.

The warrant was executed Saturday, the day of Cochran's arrest. He's charged with capital murder. Police say his DNA was found at the scene of Hastings' death.

Dallas police say Hastings, 18, was on her way to a church service Oct. 11 when a witness saw an unknown male abduct the teen, forcing her into the passenger side of her car against her will, while he got in the driver's side and drove away. The Dallas Morning News reports her body was found the next day outside the minivan.

Court documents show Cochran was acquitted in January of charges he sexually assaulted his girlfriend's daughter last year, Crimesider reported.
