Cops: Colo. boy dies after being found with cord around neck

UPDATE:The child has died and an arrest has been made, police say.

LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- A two-year-old Colorado boy, who was reportedly missing just before noon Monday, was found alive, reports CBS Denver.

The station reported Monday that he is in critical condition. According to the Lakewood Police Department, the toddler was found in a container with a lid on it and a cord around his neck.

At the scene, police tried to resuscitate the child, and then paramedics also tried as they rushed him to the hospital, the station reported.

The child's mother was at home when he was reported missing, according to CBS Denver.

The station reported that it's not clear whether the case is an attempted murder or an accident. Police were questioning the boy's family.
