Recipes: Turmeric-enhanced beverages
Google’s Food Trends Report called the spice turmeric -- a member of the ginger family that is the main spice in curry -- the “Breakout Star” of 2016. The superfood is said to be the most powerful herb on the planet, and it’s finding its way into more and more menu items.
These two beverage recipes come from California’s Café Gratitude, which specializes in 100% organic plant-based cuisine.
Golden Turmeric Latté

Ingredients:
1/2 oz. honey
1 oz. turmeric
7 oz. almond milk, steamed
1 drop essential oil of black pepper
Instructions:
Add honey and 2 oz. of steamed almond milk to mug and whisk to dissolve. Add turmeric and essential oil of black pepper. Top off with remainder of steamed almond milk. Garnish with a twist of cracked pepper.
Remember:
When steaming milk, use a chilled pitcher whenever possible.

1 oz. Lemon Juice
0.5 oz. Ginger Juice
0.5 oz. Turmeric Juice
Top with:
1 drop oil of oregano
Dash cayenne pepper
