Recalled GM vehicles

General Motors (GM) has recalled roughly 29 million vehicles around the world this year, including more than 25 million in the U.S., because of a range of mechanical issues (See here for a complete list of the recalls.)

Most recently, GM on July 23 issued six more recalls covering 718,000 cars, trucks and SUVs in the U.S. Problems included faulty seats, incomplete welds on seat brackets, turn signal failures, power steering failures, loose suspension bolts and faulty roof rack bolts. GM has announced a total of 60 recalls in 2014.

The automaker faces a number of lawsuits related to 13 deaths linked to crashes stemming from faulty ignition switches in Chevrolet Cobalts and other small cars. In the latest such legal action, a Texas lawyer on Tuesday sued GM in U.S. District Court in New York City on behalf of 658 people who were hurt or killed in crashes allegedly related to the ignition switches.
