Prosecutors: "Beer Pong Rapist" may have assaulted at least 30 men

ROCKVILLE, Md. -- A Maryland man already serving time for five sexual assaults connected to the drinking game beer pong may have had dozens more victims, reports CBS Baltimore.

Joey Poindexter, nicknamed the "beer pong rapist," is suspected of luring as many as 30 young men from bars and beer pong tournaments, where prosecutors say he searched for drunken victims.

Ramon Korionoff, of the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office, says the spree of alleged rapes began in 2011.

"Completely heinous and terrible sexual assaults," said Korionoff. "He did this knowing full well that he was taking advantage of people that were intoxicated."

Surveillance video shows the Gaithersburg, Md., man holding up one of his drunken victims as they left a pub in College Park, Md.

According to charging documents obtained CBS Baltimore: "Poindexter then bought a round of 'Long Island Iced Tea' and [victim] consumed it. [Victim] has no memory of the rest of the evening after consuming the Long Island Iced Tea."

The victim awoke the next morning in Poindexter's home. His clothes were on the floor and he was wearing a pair of Poindexter's shorts.

The victim later confronted Poindexter about the incident while wearing a police wire.

"If it makes you feel any better, I don't have any [expletive] AIDS, if anything did happen," Poindexter said while being recorded.

Poindexter hired a new attorney, who on Friday requested more time to study the case, Poindexter could face a maximum 200 year prison sentence.
