Princeton Review apologizes for misquoting Taylor Swift lyric
The Princeton Review gave teens everywhere one less reason to hate them Thursday, when they apologized to Taylor Swift.
The test-prep company issued an apology after misquoting the pop star's song "Fifteen" in its SAT prep materials.
In a section focusing on pronoun errors in popular songs, the Swift quote reads, "Somebody tells you they love you, you got to believe 'em." The actual line is, "Somebody tells you they love you, you're gonna believe them."
The company offered to make it up to Swift by providing concert tickets to a fan.
"Sorry @taylorswift13! We'll make it up to you," tweeted the Princeton Review account. "Pick a #grammar lover fan. 2 tickets to a U.S. show on us!"

The test-prep company pointed out, however, that even with the correct lyrics, the line is still grammatically incorrect.
"If we look at the whole sentence, it starts off with 'somebody,' and 'somebody,' as you know, is a singular pronoun and if it's singular, the rest of the sentence has to be singular," Princeton Review Senior VP & Publisher Rob Franek told MTV News. "So the lyric should either be: 'Somebody tells you he/she loves you, you're gonna believe him/her.' Or: 'Some people tell you they love you, you're gonna believe them.'"
