Trump’s approval rating still underwater, polls show

The number of Americans who disapprove of President Trump’s job performance continues to exceed the number who approve, according to several polls released in the last few days.

A Quinnipiac survey released Wednesday found Mr. Trump’s job approval rating among American voters at 40 percent, while 56 percent said they do not approve.

Forty-one percent of Americans in a Gallup survey released Tuesday said they approve of the job the president is doing, but 52 percent said they disapprove – a net disapproval of 11 percent.

In a Reuters/Ipsos survey of Americans released the same day, Mr. Trump’s approval rating stood at 43 percent, with a disapproval rating of 52 percent – a net disapproval of nine percent.

A Marist survey released last Friday revealed similar findings: 39 percent of registered voters said they approve of Mr. Trump’s job performance, while 49 percent said they disapprove -- a net disapproval of 10 percent.

By comparison, the latest CBS News survey, released last week, found Mr. Trump’s approval rating at 43 percent and his disapproval at 49 percent.

The Quinnipiac poll surveyed 1,062 voters nationwide between April 12 and 18, and it has a margin of error of plus or minus three percent.

Gallup’s survey polled 1,500 Americans between April 14 and 17, and it has a margin of error of plus or minus three percent.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll surveyed 1,843 Americans betyween April 13 and 17, and it has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.6 percent.

The Marist poll surveyed 869 registered voters nationwide on April 11 and 12, and it has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3 percent.

And the CBS News poll surveyed 1,006 Americans between April 7 and 9, and it has a margin of error of plus or minus four percent.
