Pregnant Tennessee 15-year-old found dead, suspect charged
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man was arrested and charged after a 15-year-old girl was found shot and killed at an apartment complex around 1 a.m. Monday morning, according to CBS affiliate WREG.
Her body had been found inside a family member's member's house, according to the station. A family member later identified the victim as Vianca Harris.
Police say the victim had been four or five weeks pregnant.
The 24-year-old suspect, Terry Turner, has reportedly been charged with second-degree murder. Police say additional charges connected to the murder of her unborn child are pending.
Neighbors say a fight broke out at the apartment before the shooting. At the time of the incident, the homeowner was not there at the time, but several other people were -- including children, according to WREG.
Turner was arrested once before on a felony charge in Oct. 2015. He made headlines after he was photographed dressed as a woman and sent to a jail where female prisoners were kept, according to the station.
The next day, when he was discovered to be male, he was immediately transferred to where the male inmates were kept.
