Police: Son arrested in murder of parents at S.C. resort

CONWAY, S.C. -- Police say the son of a couple found dead in a hotel room in Myrtle Beach Friday is one of the suspects arrested in connection with the slayings, CBS affiliate WBTW reported.

Horry County Coroner's Office identified the victims as Carrie Turner, 52, and Steven Turner, 61 of Durham, North Carolina. Their son, Alexander, was one of the four people arrested, according to the station.

Investigators say the murders are thought to have resulted from a domestic dispute.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard says the victims died of gunshot wounds.

In addition to Turner, Chelsi Griffin was also charged in the murders, according to booking reports. Police also arrested and charged Grant Dollens and Roxanna Cumpan with accessory after the fact.

The announcement comes after a search warrant was executed at an apartment building near Coastal Carolina University, according to WBTW.

Turner was previously arrested March 4 in Horry County, charged with unlawfully carrying a pistol and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the station.
