Police searching for missing Illinois woman Darcey Cottrell

DANVILLE, Ill. -- An Illinois mother has not been seen since last week and police are asking for the public's help locating her, reports CBS affiliate WCIA.

Darcey Cottrell, 34, was last seen near her home in Danville, Illinois, on the afternoon of June 1, according to the station. Her mom says she left to go to work at 2:30 pm, but she never made it there.

"I was scared because my grandson thinks someone took her, and I don't even want to think along those lines. But something's going on," Cottrell's mother, Cindy Lowe, told WCIA.

Lowe says she saw her daughter the day before she went missing -- and nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary.

"Everything was the same. We had some pizza together," she told the station. "I had no red flags."

Police say she was driving a green Ford Ranger with license plate number AN3826. She is described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing around 130 pounds, according to the department's Facebook page.

Authorities say it is unknown if Cottrell is alone or with someone else.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Danville Police Department at (217) 431 - 2250 or the Vermilion County Crime Stoppers at (217) 446 - TIPS.
