Search for two men who impersonated NYPD officers, robbed boy

NEW YORK - Police released surveillance video and sketches Wednesday of two suspects who allegedly impersonated NYPD officers and robbed a 14-year-old boy on a Bronx subway platform, reports CBS New York.

The two impostors reportedly approached the boy, accused him of a violation before holding him at gunpoint, then grabbed his possessions including a chain around his neck, and fled.

The 14-year-old was on the platform of the No. 6 train at the Whitlock Avenue station in the Bronx.

Both men are described as Hispanic, one wearing a red hat and a red and white baseball shirt, the other with a pony tail and wearing a white T-shirt.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
