Police search for suspect in Miss. murder of girlfriend and her grandma

COMO, Miss. -- Police say they are searching for a man they consider armed and dangerous in connection with the murder of his girlfriend and her grandmother Friday night, CBS affiliate WREG reports.

Police said Quendarius Robinson of Batesville killed his girlfriend, 22-year-old Cerea Jackson, and her grandmother, 68-year-old Emma Jackson, while Carea Jackson's two young children were present. The women lived in Como, which borders the Mississippi Delta, police said.

They have warrants out for Robinson's arrest, according to the station.

Officers got a call a little before 9 p.m. Friday saying the two women had been shot. Emma's sister, Jennie Green, told WREG that Cerea's son was the one who found help.

"My nephew, he's 4 years old, ran out the house, next door and told them they had been shot," Green said.

While the search for Robinson continues, family of the victims are trying to cope with their loss.

From her front porch on a rainy Sunday afternoon Eloise Jackson shared her heartache. Her mother, Emma Jackson and her daughter, Cerea Jackson, are gone.

"As good as my mom had been to him, my daughter she did everything she could," Jackson said.

"It's like a dream that I can't get out of," she added.

She said she is taking care of the children, who are confused.

"Where's mama? When is she going to come home?" she told the station they've been asking.

Throughout the Como community Emma and Cerea were known for their giving and nurturing spirits, according to the station.
