Police search for suspect in Miami road rage shooting

MIAMI -- Miami Police are on the hunt for a shooter in a road rage incident involving some very luxurious cars on Thanksgiving, reports CBS Miami.

According to detectives, it all started on Thursday when two drivers rolled up to a red light and the two men had reportedly been feuding for some time on road, reports the station.

Police said the driver of a Rolls Royce exited the vehicle and approached the driver of a Mercedes C-Class.

Surveillance camera captured as the two drivers exchanged punches.

According to the station, when the light turned green, police said the driver of the Mercedes pulled out a gun and shot the other man in the chest.

"We do not know where this whole argument started or what," said Miami Police spokesperson Kenia Fallat. "It appears it is all road rage."

The victim, 34-year-old Edward Zapata, reportedly made it back to his car but fell on to the asphalt. His passenger dialed police and he was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center.

Zapata underwent emergency surgery and is currently listed in stable condition.

His passenger said he never got a look at the gunman.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477).
