Police search for suspect in killing of two brothers during robbery

PALMETTO, Fla. -- Police are searching for a man suspected of gunning down two brothers Monday during a convenience store robbery, reports CBS affiliate WTSP.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is searching for Devin Chandler, 25, in connection with the deaths of Faares Yousef, 17, and his 23-year-old brother Khasem Yousef.

The victims don't usually work at their family's Palmetto, Fla., store, Snappy's Kwick Mart, but were helping out during the Labor Day holiday, according to relatives. Palmetto Police Chief said a lone robber walked into the store around 2:30 p.m. and without warning shot them dead.

"He just point-blank walked up and shot them, just shot them in the head," Tyler said.

Investigators allegedly identified Chandler from surveillance video, and have arrest warrants charging him with two counts of homicide and one count of armed robbery.

Omar Sureiman, a cousin of the victims, said the pain has been unbearable for their tight-knit Palestinian family.

"Having a really hard time, the murder of two kids, just can't believe it," says Sureiman.

Sureiman had just been with Faares a couple days ago, not knowing it was the last time he'd say goodbye to the 17 year old.

"I actually hugged him and told him goodbye, because he was going back to Bradenton," says Sureiman.
