Police search for Fla. children who may be with murder suspect
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. -- A statewide alert has been issued for two Florida children police fear may be with their father, a murder suspect.
Investigators said Tuesday they are searching for 4-year-old Edward Gamez and 10-month-old Lizeht Gamez-Flores, reports CBS affiliate WKMG. Officials believe the children are with their father, Edward Gamez Sr., and his girlfriend, Maria Lopez. They were reportedly last seen near Fellsmere in the eastern central portion of the state.
According to the Palm Beach Post, Gamez is wanted on a first-degree murder warrant after he was accused of shooting two brothers outside their home in Vero Beach last week. One of the brothers was killed.
Investigators said anyone who spots the group should not approach them but should instead call 911.
