Police: Missing Calif. woman last seen at party found slain

HAYWARD, Calif. -- A San Jose woman reported missing a week ago has become the focus of a homicide investigation after being found dead.

Hayward police Sgt. Ryan Cantrell said the body of 22-year-old Stacey Aguilar was found Saturday. She was reportedly last seen leaving a party in Hayward around 11 p.m. on Feb. 13.

On Friday, CBS San Francisco reported that police were already investigating her disappearance as a homicide and were turning their focus on locating her body.

"We have shifted to a homicide investigation based on information and evidence we have developed," Cantrell told the station on Friday.

Cantrell said detectives believe Aguilar was a victim of a homicide. Police did not say where her body was found.

An autopsy to determine the cause of her death will be conducted by the Alameda County Coroner's Bureau.
