Police investigate shots fired at University of Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. --Police were looking for a person of interest after finding shell casings and blood while responding to a report of shots fired at the University of Arizona on Wednesday night,CBS Tucson affiliate KOLD reported.

University of Arizona Police Department officers found the casings near the Thomas W. Keating Bioresearch building on Helen Street and Warren Avenue.

A police spokesman said someone called in saying he or she heard three shots fired and then screaming or yelling.

Sgt. Filbert Barrera, a UAPD public information officer, said dispatchers were able to find footage of the incident on campus cameras.

The person of interest was described as a 5-foot-10-inch man with spiky hair wearing a Chicago Bulls hat, white shirt, khaki pants and a tan backpack.

Local hospitals have not reported any gunshot victims, Berrera said.
