Police: Drunk driver wanted directions to McDonald's

STURBRIDGE, Mass. -- When a man allegedly driving drunk pulled up next to a police officer and asked for directions to a McDonald's restaurant, the officer was not lovin' it, reports CBS Boston.

Police in Sturbridge, in western Massachusetts, say they received a report of an erratic driver Sunday around shortly before 9 a.m. When an officer responded, police say the driver, 32-year-old Joseph Damato of Millbury, pulled alongside the squad car and asked how to find the home of the Big Mac.

Damato was "slurring his words and appeared dazed," according to a police report. They say he had a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.

Damato was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and an inspection violation.
