Police catch murder suspect who escaped custody in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Police have captured a murder suspect who escaped custody early Wednesday morning in the Edgehill community in Nashville, reports CBS affiliate WTVF.

According to the station, officials with Metro police said 32-year-old Brian Williams was taken into custody Wednesday morning after nearly nine hours on the run. He was found hiding behind a church.

Williams reportedly managed to maneuver the handcuffs to the front of his body while in the police car, and as he was being led out of the cruiser, he ran off around 12:45 a.m, reports the station.

Williams had reportedly been named a suspect in the shooting death of 34-year-old Henry Arthur Wilson III just hours earlier. Wilson was shot and killed during an argument Monday night.

Police said one of Williams' hands was still cuffed at the time of his arrest.
