Cops: 3 arrested after man beaten, stabbed in New York attack

VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. -- Three men are facing attempted murder charges in connection an attack at a Long Island home earlier this week, reports CBS New York.

Police say a 27-year-old man had gone to a home in Valley Stream Monday night to retrieve something for a friend. When the man got to the home, police say he was confronted by three men, according to the station.

The three suspects allegedly began punching and kicking the victim before striking him in the back of the head with a black handgun. Police say the victim was handcuffed, placed into a bathtub and stabbed repeatedly with a steak knife.

He was then thrown into a car and abandoned in a nearby street, reports CBS New York. The victim was then able to walk to a hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries, police say.

21-year-old Johnathan Faneytt, Jesus Maldonado, 22, and 19-year-old Jorge Freire-Romero were later arrested and reportedly face multiple charges, including attempted murder and kidnapping.

Faneytt also faces drug charges, reports the station.
