People in Brooklyn neighborhood complain of serial spitter

NEW YORK -- Residents of a Brooklyn neighborhood say a man has spit on people during more than two dozen incidents in the last two months, reports CBS New York.

On a private Facebook page for members of the Lefferts Gardens community in Brooklyn, people have complained about the incidents and contributed to a map of the locations. The spitter is described as a tall, slender man in his 20s or 30s, usually wearing a grey hooded sweat shirt.

Leslie Ward told CBS New York that she saw the man spit on a 3-year-old boy as the boy sat on the back of his mother's bike.

"She was like: 'Did you see that guy? He just spat on my kid! He spat on my kid!' She was like: 'Oh my God, you're so disgusting!' and she was in tears," Ward said.

Police are encouraging people who have been spit on to file reports.
