Pa. teen reported abducted at gunpoint found safe
WILKES BARRE, Penn. -- A Pennsylvania teen who had been reported abducted at gunpoint by her ex-boyfriend has been found safe, reports CBS Philly.
Jenea Patterson, 16, was abducted from her home in Wilkes-Barre Thursday night, police said. They named the suspect as 21-year-old Walter Lewis, reportedly her ex-boyfriend.
Jenea Patterson's mother said that Lewis, of Wilkes-Barre, was waiting for Patterson when she arrived home about 11 p.m. Thursday, reported the Times-Tribune. He approached the vehicle Patterson arrived in wielding a firearm and ordered everyone out, according to the paper.
The girl recently filed a protection from abuse order against Lewis, reports the paper.
Pennsylvania State Police issued an Amber Alert for Patterson and said Lewis was considered armed and dangerous.
Authorities say a tip led them to a parking garage of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, where the two were located in a car Saturday morning, reports the Times-Tribune. Police say when Lewis noticed officers approaching, he threw a weapon to the ground and attempted to run, but was taken into custody after a brief struggle, reports CBS Philly.
Patterson was unharmed and reunited with her family.
Lewis was arrested on kidnapping and weapons charges.
