Police use rope to corral drunk driver on lawn mower
WASHINGTONVILLE, Pa. - State troopers say they had to use a rope to corral a man who was driving drunk on his lawn mower with a box of beer.
The Daily Item reports 25-year-old Tyler Anspach also threatened a Pennsylvania trooper after he was arrested on July 13 while driving his tractor in Montour County, about 100 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
Police received a call that night about an agitated, mower-driving man making threats. Responding troopers said they could smell alcohol on Anspach and saw him stumble.
Authorities say his blood-alcohol content was .21 percent. That's more than twice the legal limit for drivers.
Anspach is charged with DUI, disorderly conduct and related offenses.
