Pennsylvania man jailed in shooting over pet hermit crab

NAZARETH, Pa. --An eastern Pennsylvania man has been jailed on charges he fired shots during an argument over a pet hermit crab that belongs to his fiancée's son.

Nazareth police tell The (Allentown) Morning Call the shooting happened as Maisonet and his fiancée met her ex-husband outside their home. The ex-husband was dropping off the boy after a weekend visit when police say Maisonet and the other man began arguing about whether the boy could bring the crab, which was in a fish tank, into the home.

Police say Maisonet fired a shot into the front wheel of the father's car, then aimed the gun at the boy's father and his girlfriend.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Maisonet.
