Oscars 2015: Hollywood reacts to nominations
Nominees were announced Thursday morning for the 87th Academy Awards, with "Birdman" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel" leading the pack.
Nominees, non-nominees, fellow cast members and Hollywood friends are chiming in on this year's nods.
Emma Stone, who's nominated for her role in "Birdman," had a hard time containing her excitement, saying in a statement, "Well, this is surreal. I am completely knocked out," she wrote. "Thank you to the Academy for this incredible honor. I am very proud and lucky to be a part of Birdmanand can't believe it came to this. I am so f***ing excited. Are you allowed to say f*** when you're making a statement for the Oscars? I'm just really f***ing excited."
Eddie Redmayne, who's up for best actor, told Sky News, "It's an amazing, amazing thing. It's the crack of dawn here in Los Angeles...Suddenly there was a rap on the door, and I stumbled to the door and it was my manager there with a team of people on the phone screaming, which was very exciting, but I'm just trying to come to terms with it all...It's extraordinary!"
"To ring my parents who are both actors and tell them that their only son has been nominated for an Oscar is one of the proudest moments of my life." - Benedict Cumberbatch on his best actor nod for "The Imitation Game," per The Associated Press.
"Now I guess Baymax has to go out and pick out a tux." - Chris Williams, co-director of "Big Hero 6," nominated for best animated feature.
"I don't care how much people tell you, 'It's gonna happen.' When it happens, you're thrilled." - Michael Keaton on his best-actor nod for "Birdman."
