One injured in shooting at North Carolina elementary school

STATESVILLE, N.C. -- At least one person is being treated for injuries after deputies say a domestic violence-related incident resulted in a shooting at an elementary school in Statesville, reports CBS affiliate WBTV.

Deputies say the shooting happened at Central Elementary School around 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. The shooting was on school property, but was outside the school.

Officials said an adult male was treated for injuries from the shooting, and a woman was being interviewed and may be in custody.

The shooting resulted in a lockdown of the school but investigators say school was already done for the day and only staff members and a few students were there at the time.
