Officials: Several people shot on Chicago's South Side
CHICAGO — Five people were shot — one fatally — in Chicago’s West Englewood neighborhood Monday night, fire officials said, CBS Chicago reported.
Police responded to reports of multiple people shot near 67th and Winchester shortly before 9 p.m. Five were shot, including one person who died at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head, police said.
The Chicago Fire Department sent several ambulances to the scene. Four people were transported to hospitals in serious to critical condition.
Community activist Andrew Holmes said one of the victims was 13, CBS Chicago reported.
Witnesses say a southbound car was passing by a residence on Winchester when someone fired at people sitting on a porch.
