NFL player investigated for alleged taunting... of police dog

PITTSBURGH -- A member of the Oakland Raiders is under investigation for allegedly taunting a police dog before Sunday's NFL game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Police sources tell CBS Pittsburgh that linebacker Aravious "Ray-Ray" Armstrong lifted up his shirt, beat his chest, and barked and yelled at the K-9 before the start of the game at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.

Taunting a K-9 is a felony in Pennsylvania.

"We were immediately notified about the incident, and we immediately initiated a criminal investigation into the matter," said Allegheny County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Kevin Kraus. "Sheriff's Office supervisors interviewed witnesses and reviewed video surveillance recordings at Heinz Field. We notified the District Attorney's Office on Sunday."

Armstrong has not been charged in the incident.
