Goodell talks about when the NFL saw the 2nd Ray Rice video

In his first interview since suspending former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice indefinitely over a domestic violence incident, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell addressed what the league knew and when it knew what exactly transpired between Rice and his then-fiancee Janay Palmer.

At question is a second videotape released Monday by the gossip website TMZ, which appears to show Rice punching Palmer and dragging her from an Atlantic City casino elevator. Earlier, video had been released from the exterior of the elevator showing Rice dragging an unconscious Palmer out into a lobby.

Goodell had previously suspended Rice only two games after the initial video was released, a decision that caused an outcry and one that he admitted to regretting.

"CBS This Morning" co-anchor Norah O'Donnell asked Goodell whether they NFL had seen the video from inside the elevator prior to Monday in an exclusive interview

"We had not seen any video tape of what occurred in the elevator. We assumed that there was a video, we asked for the video, we asked for anything that was pertinent, but we were never granted that opportunity," Goodell said.
