Newborn found abandoned on porch with umbilical cord attached
ORLANDO -- Deputies in Orange County, Florida released photos Monday of a baby boy who was found abandoned on an apartment porch Friday, reports CBS affiliate WKMG.
Authorities have been searching for the newborn's parents since 8:40 a.m. Friday, when the child was found. Deputies said the parents are not expected to face charges, but officials are asking them to come forward so they can obtain the baby's medical records.
Deputies said a man coming home from working an overnight shift at a local hotel found the baby wrapped in a brown fitted sheet on his back porch after hearing its cries.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office said the baby's umbilical cord was still attached. Hospital officials determined that the baby was only hours old when he was found.
The baby is in good health and living with a foster family, according to deputies.
