Search for machete-wielding suspect after NY park stabbing
WEST HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Police are looking for four suspects, one of whom may be carrying a machete, after four teens were stabbed in a New York state park Monday afternoon, park officials tell CBS New York.
The stabbing was reported around 3:15 p.m. at Hempstead Lake State Park in Long Island. New York State Park Police tell the station four teenagers were stabbed. One teen suffered serious injuries and was expected to undergo surgery.
Police say they're looking for four males, one of whom may be armed with a machete. Officials believe the others are carrying knives.
State and park police were canvassing the heavily wooded area Monday as the search for the suspects continued.
