​NeNe Leakes is leaving "The Real Housewives of Atlanta"

NeNe Leakes is is saying goodbye to the "The Real Housewives of Atlanta."

The 47-year-old reality star, who has starred on the Bravo series since its 2008 launch, announced this week that she won't be returning for season 8 this fall.

In an Instagram post, she wrote, "This is so hard for me to type! I cry as I do so! I am so Grateful for all the love and laughs! Thank you so much to everyone that has watched and supported me over the years on this amazing platform! With lots of thoughts and prayer I've decided to step out on faith and not fear."

The Queens, New York, native rose to fame on "The Apprentice" and had roles on shows including "Glee" and "The New Normal."
