National poll finds Carson and Trump in virtual tie
A year out from Election Day, Ben Carson is virtually tied with Donald Trump among Republicans, with Trump attracting 24 percent of the vote, compared to Carson's 23 percent, according to Quinnipiac University's latest poll, released Wednesday morning. The poll also says Marco Rubio has 14 percent with Ted Cruz close behind, at 13 percent. Jeb Bush has four percent in this poll

In a general election matchup, Carson would beat Hillary Clinton handily, 50-40 percent, the poll says. Clinton would also lose to Rubio by five points and Cruz by three. Chris Christie would also beat her by five points. She would, however, beat Donald Trump, 46 percent to 43 percent.
Among Democrats, Clinton would win 53 percent, compared with 35 percent for Sen. Bernie Sanders. Nine percent remain undecided ,and 44 percent could change their mind.
In terms of favorability, Bush fares worse among Republican voters than any of his primary opponents, with a 47 percent unfavorable rating. Carson has the highest favorability, with 82 percent. Chris Christie's favorability is 57 percent, which shows a marked improvement since March, when his favorability was a mere 32 percent in the Quinnipiac poll.
