Motorcycle gang fugitive, sought since '97, caught

MILWAUKEE - The U.S. Marshals Service says a member of the Outlaws motorcycle gang has been captured after 17 years on the run.

Randy Mark Yager, 58, was apprehended Wednesday near Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico.

Yager was president of the Outlaws' Chicago region when he and 16 other members of the Detroit-based gang were indicted by a Wisconsin federal grand jury in 1997. The government's racketeering indictment accused Yager of robbery and twice conspiring to commit murder.

U.S. Marshals got a lead on Yager's location and passed it onto Mexican authorities, who took Yager into custody. He is now being held in San Diego.

Yager, of Gary, Indiana, was the only remaining fugitive in the indictment. He landed on the U.S. Marshals' list of 15 most wanted fugitives in 2004.
