Missing Howard U. student found safe in Md.
BRUNSWICK, Md. -- A Howard University doctoral student missing since Tuesday has been found safe at a Maryland campground after a massive search, reports CBS affiliate WUSA.
Lance Buckley, 33, was found in good condition at the Brunswick Family Campground in Brunswick, Md., near the state's border with West Virginia, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. The campground is about 60 miles northwest of the Washington, D.C. school, where he was set to graduate Saturday.
Tips led investigators to the area, according to the station.
Buckley was last seen around 8 a.m. Tuesday when his mother dropped him off at a commuter lot in Stafford, Va., about 40 miles south of the university, where he caught a ride to the school. He texted his wife that morning, but hadn't been heard from since.
His disappearance made national headlines, and his family pleaded for his safe return.
Buckley is the father of two young children, including an infant girl.
"We are truly pleased that Mr. Buckley was found safe and in good condition," said Stafford County Sheriff Charles Jett.
